Charities – giving generously…it’s a way of life!

We’ve been active in our support to the local and wider ranging communities, giving more away each year to the two charities chosen by the team and many local fundraisers. In total we gave away ice cream and money amounting to nearly £9000 – this is more than a 10% increase on last years giving!

During 2017 our two main charities were the Youth Cancer Trust, receiving just under £2000, and Diverse Abilities receiving nearly £2500, as well as a plethora of Dorset fundraisers benefiting from local church and school raffles through to the worlds’ biggest coffee morning for MacMillan.

For 2018 as well as the Youth Cancer Trust, who we have been supporting for the last ten years, we will continue with Diverse Abilities and will also be giving to Forest Holme Hospice. We also have a new initiative for 2018 where 5p from every tub in our new Jurassic Range will be donated to the Jurassic Coast trust.

Yay – more ice cream breakfasts!
Honeycombe has got to be the best ice cream EVER!! I can ‘think’ that I can’t eat anything….but actually there’s always room for some Purbeck
Ice Cream!!! Gorgeous!! Youth Cancer Trust

For 2018, we will continue our support for the Youth Cancer Trust who provides support and free therapeutic breaks all year round at Tracey Ann House in Bournemouth for teenagers and young adults aged 14 to 30 living with cancer from the UK and Ireland. We have supported this charity for 10 years now and they order and receive regular free supplies from March to September with direct deliveries and monetary donations sent as and when received. There is a friendly, family atmosphere in the house, enabling many young people to restore and re-build confidence, try different activities, make new friends and eat plenty of delicious Purbeck Ice Cream too!
We are continuing to support Diverse Abilities, who offer a range of support to those who have a range of diverse abilities! This is the only charity that supports both children and adults with profound physical and/or learning disabilities as well as their families and carers. They provide a range of assistance through the children’s team, adult services and at Langside School and will now be able to enjoy a steady stream of indulgent and nourishing Purbeck Ice Cream to enjoy a well as to raise essential funds in order to maintain their vital services to those in need.

“Our team are happy to make a difference in the local community, giving great enjoyment to indulge in a tub or two to brighten their day whether winning a raffle, whilst in hospital, staying at the Youth Cancer Trust or by those being helped by the team at Diverse Abilities.”
We continue to make and supply the Bournemouth and Yeovil Hospitals’ poorly patients with patient care tubs and have provided at just above cost price, a massive 190,000 hospital tubs. Purbeck Ice Cream is most welcome as it is easily eaten and digested, cool and palatable and very often, the only thing that can be eaten and enjoyed.
