Giving…it’s a way of life

The commitment to help support our local community and the three charities chosen by the team remains vitally important, and is of particular significance during the pandemic. With little opportunity for the charities to fund raise and even more charity needed to help everyone in need during this most difficult time, our donations have continued albeit to a lesser extent due to unforeseen closures. Despite these difficulties we have donated just under £11000 during 2021.

Diverse Abilities www.diverseabilities.org.uk are a charity who cater for children and adults who have a range of diverse abilities – some being more able than others and some needing special, dedicated care and commitment from their caring team. They have enjoyed donations of tubs of Purbeck Ice Cream for the children, adults, carers and staff and enjoyed over £1500 during 2021.

Forest Holme Hospice www.forestholmehospice.org.uk give caring and sympathetic end of life care in an environment of peace and compassion for patients, families and friends and have enjoyed and appreciated just under £5300.

Purbeck Youth & Community Foundation www.pycf.org.uk is a charitable organisation formed in 2016 by local volunteers in response to Dorset County Council’s appeal for community groups to take over the management of youth centres. Based next door to the Purbeck Sports Centre in Wareham they cater for young and young at heart locals to support, enable and inspire everyone in our community to Live Young, Live Life and have received just under £1800.Yay – more ice cream breakfasts!

Honeycombe has got to be the best ice cream EVER!! I can ‘think’ that I can’t eat anything….but actually there’s always room for some Purbeck
Ice Cream!!! Gorgeous!! Youth Cancer Trust

We joined the Jurassic Coast Trust as business partners in 2018 and continue to donate 5p for every Jurassic Range retail tub sold, helping to support our coastline whilst educating on how to manage our most beautiful and unique area. During 2021, we gave just under £1,600. Bournemouth, Yeovil & Poole Hospitals thoroughly enjoy our patient care tubs supplied at a very low margin giving natural sustenance and enjoyment for those who are poorly in
hospital. They have had supplies of over 250,000 tubs during 2021.

We’ve sent out Raffle Prizes to a few local charities, with just £160 sent out this year plus £50 raised from the team Christmas Card for Corfe Castle Festivities Committee to keep Corfe lights twinkling.

With all these donations and JCT, coins deposited in the collecting tubs, supporting our customers and suppliers fund raising efforts, raffle prizes, talks and tours, sponsorship and odd giveaways for our loyal customers and generally being jolly good eggs we have achieved donations of £11000 in 2021.
