Dorset Company Purbeck Ice Cream has recently being re assessed as an Investor in People ~ passing with flying colours. IIP is the National Standard for organizational excellence in improving performance through the development of the team  covering all aspects of business planning, management, training and every day working procedures.

The business began 18 years ago when Peter & Hazel Hartle diversified from dairy farming into producing the very best, totally natural ice cream using milk and cream from the farm. The passion for making this great British original is as strong now as it was then with the passion now shared between the whole team!

The team has a wide balance of strong personalities each complimenting the others’ skills, each member having a voice that is heard and acted upon to improve the business, its products and services and make every day challenging, exciting, rewarding and above all else…fun! The concluding remarks of the assessor concluded ‘Purbeck Ice Cream has one of the happiest workforces I have had the pleasure of meeting and I heard lots of lighthearted banter and friendly insults over the course of the day. This is a tribute to the skilful way the directors have set up and managed the business.’
